in theory
Every time I book a trip, I tell myself the same thing—
this is the trip I become a carry-on-only person.
Effortless. Minimal. The kind of person who “just throws things in a bag” and somehow has perfect outfits the entire time.
And every time…that’s not exactly what happens.
✧
The idea is good though.
A few bikinis you actually love.
One pair of jeans that works with everything.
A white tank. A black tank. Something slightly nicer (just in case).
And then the extras start sneaking in.
Another bikini “just to have options.”
A dress you might wear.
Shoes that don’t really go but feel important for some reason.
Suddenly it’s no longer a carry-on situation.
✧
But the goal isn’t perfection.
It’s editing.
Knowing what you’ll actually reach for.
What makes getting dressed feel easy, not like a decision.
The pieces that work without trying.
✧
And then there are the things you don’t think about—but always end up wearing the most.
The jewelry you never take off.
The small detail that makes every outfit feel finished.
Something gold, always.
✧
Maybe the carry-on thing is less about the bag
and more about the mindset.
Keep it simple.
Bring what you love.
Wear everything.
(And if you check a bag anyway…no one needs to know.)
More to come.
